About Me

In my early twenties I lived and worked overseas for six years, homesickness always lessened once small and familiar objects found their home in my new flat, or stateroom, or hut.

How did I make a boat which circumnavigated the world feel like home? With a sheepskin I picked up while living in New Zealand at the bottom of my bed and a vintage oil painting; taken off the stretcher for easy packing and pinning up.  And while in port my collection grew; I bought kilim rugs at the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul, brass cups in Marseille, France and wool blankets from Lima, Peru.  While working in Africa I draped my favorite fabric over the mosquito netting to create a dramatic canopy.

I found living out of a suitcase for so many years taught me to only carry what I love and make the most of what I had.

Upon my return to the States I moved to Los Angeles where I worked at a well respected art gallery.  This was a time of meeting artists, visiting their studios, curating shows, selling pieces and installing them.  It was a time of educating my eye, learning that sometimes subtle changes can be very transformative, negative space is important and balance is key.

Nine years ago I moved back to my home state of Texas with my husband.  Austin has been a great place for us to raise our two small children and a creative place to work and play.

I have a firm belief that good design does not need to cost a fortune. A well curated home is interesting, pulled together, layered, creative and a reflection of you.  We have such little control of our surroundings outside of our home or office, isn't it important to have a place where you feel inspired, relaxed and rejuvenated?

I scour Etsy, Craigslist, Ebay, thrift shops, consignment stores and alleys hunting for fantastic pieces, some I use as is, others get transformed and reimagined. I build, I sew, I paint. I shop high and low looking for the perfect pieces to make your space you. Convinced?  Call me, let's talk.
